I had a memory pop into my head the other day and it wasn't a fond one. It was a memory from back before I started boudoir and my self love journey... and I want to share it with you.
Years ago, I had one of my husbands best friends tell me how "fat" I was. He was constantly berating me, making fun of me, and overall just a crap person. Well, needless to say, that person isn't in our lives anymore, but the memories are still there, floating around just waiting to pop up and ruin my day. They always manage to find their way to me on days that I'm already not feeling the best about myself. That's what negativity does, its a weed and it LOVES to grow.
But, this time, I decided I didn't want to let it. This time, I grabbed my camera, set up my tripod, and took some BANGING photos of myself. This is me. 162lbs. Not perfect. Not even entirely where I want to be with my body, but you know what? I don't regret the photos...and you shouldn't either.
When ladies tell me "I just need to lose a little weight first" I always smile and nod knowingly...and then follow it with: I understand that, and I am here when you're ready but please know that this is all about embracing and celebrating who you are. RIGHT NOW. Every body is beautiful and my job is to capture you in a way that reflects your confidence and uniqueness.
